How To Make A Floating Shelf Youtube

Hey friends!  Ash and I are So pumped to share our very first YouTube video tutorial with you guys today!  When choosing which project to tackle on video first, we found it fitting to start with our near popular build…. First step…. Brand your cuts.  We used a miter saw to make our cuts.   The hardwood plywood comes in bigger sheets at the hardware shop.  You can take the guys at that place cut it down for you to brand information technology easier to get home.

2d step…Build your box.  This shelf uses hardwood plywood and 1×6 to create the box.  For this box, we used wood glue and one.25″ finish nails to attach all of our pieces.  Build the iv sides first, and then glue and nail the top piece to that.

We finished our box and stained it.  While information technology was drying nosotros congenital the wall cleat.

This is made from a 2×4.  We made our cuts so used our Kreg Jig to create 1.v″ pocket holes into each of the 3 smaller pieces.

We fastened each of those three pieces to the longer 2×4 using woods glue and 2.5″ pocket hole screws.

Once we had the wall back up assembled, nosotros fastened it to the wall using 3″ screws.  We used a stud finder to marker the studs in the walls and and so drove the screws through the wall support and into the studs of the wall.  We oftentimes get asked how much weight these shelves will hold.  If yous build and attach them correctly, they are strong! 🙂

Our last step is fitting the shelf over the back up.  The box just slides over the wall support.  Nosotros used ane.five″ screws through the meridian of the box and into the back up to concord it in identify.

Finished!  These hold just about annihilation… I found the arrow bookends at Pottery Barn, but they no longer carry them But I found nearly an exact lucifer (and cheaper) on Amazon Here!
